similmente

similarly

adverb see-MEEL-men-teh Rare

Origin: From Latin similiter, from similis (like, similar).

Also means

likewise

Usage Note

Similmente is a formal written-register adverb meaning 'in a similar way'. In everyday speech Italians prefer allo stesso modo (in the same way), ugualmente, or analogamente. It is common in academic, legal, and bureaucratic prose as a discourse connector. Do not confuse with similarmente, which is nonstandard — similmente is the correct form.

Examples

"Il secondo caso si comporta similmente al primo."

Natural Translation

The second case behaves similarly to the first.
