sintonia

harmony

noun seen-TOH-nyah Rare

Origin: From Greek syntonia, 'accord, tuning together'.

Also means

tuning

Usage Note

Sintonia comes from radio broadcasting — essere in sintonia literally means 'to be on the same frequency' — but it is widely used figuratively to mean being in harmony or on the same wavelength with someone: siamo in piena sintonia ('we are completely in tune'). The opposite is disaccordo (disagreement).
