Usage Note
Stanziare is a -iare verb conjugated regularly; it takes avere. It is primarily a bureaucratic and parliamentary term: stanziare fondi / stanziare risorse ('to earmark funds / resources'). In everyday speech Italians prefer mettere da parte for saving money; stanziare is rarely used outside official registers.
