Usage Note
Star is an English loanword used in Italian to mean a celebrity or famous performer, especially in cinema or music — closer to 'movie star' than simply 'star' in the astronomical sense (which is stella). It is invariable in Italian (le star, not le stars) and is grammatically feminine (la star, le star). It belongs to informal and entertainment-press register.
Examples
