Terribilmente is used both as a literal intensifier ('terribly frightened': terribilmente spaventato) and as a colloquial degree adverb equivalent to 'awfully' or 'dreadfully' (terribilmente noioso — 'terribly boring'). In informal speech it functions like enormemente or tremendamente. It is formed regularly from terribile + -mente.
