Tesoreria refers to a treasury department or the function of managing funds — the office itself (la tesoreria del comune — the municipal treasury) or the practice (gestione della tesoreria — treasury management). Do not confuse with tesoro (treasure/darling), which is a different word sharing the same root. The plural is tesorerie.
