Usage Note
Trasmettitore (feminine trasmettitrice, plural trasmettitori) refers to an electronic transmitter — radio, TV, or signal device. It derives from trasmettere (to transmit). Do not confuse with trasmissione (the act of transmission or a broadcast programme) — trasmettitore is the device itself.
Examples
"Il trasmettitore radio è stato installato sulla collina."
Natural Translation
The radio transmitter was installed on the hill.
