Usage Note
Ultimi is the masculine plural form of ultimo (last, most recent). It is used before or after a noun: gli ultimi giorni (the last days), negli ultimi anni (in recent years). When listing, ultimo also means 'the latter'. Italian learners should note the stress falls on the first syllable: OOL-tee-mee.
