Usage Note

Vaccinazione derives from vaccino (vaccine), which itself comes from Latin vacca (cow), after Jenner's use of cowpox. It is always feminine: la vaccinazione obbligatoria (the mandatory vaccination). The plural le vaccinazioni is regular.
