Usage Note

Asimmetria refers to a lack of symmetry in shapes, structures, or relationships. In mathematics, physics, and linguistics it is used technically; in everyday speech it often describes an imbalance of power or information, e.g. asimmetria informativa ('information asymmetry'). The adjective is asimmetrico. The plural asimmetrie is regular.
