Usage Note

Cinguettare imitates the sound of small birds, and by extension it is used colloquially for light, rapid chatter or — informally — for posting on social media (from Twitter/cinguettio). It takes avere as its auxiliary. The noun form cinguettio means a chirping sound.

Examples

"Gli uccellini cinguettavano sul ramo ogni mattina."
