Usage Note
Ebbene is a formal or literary connective used to introduce a conclusion or resumption in discourse, similar to English 'well then' or 'so.' It is more emphatic than allora and appears mostly in written or formal spoken Italian. Avoid it in casual conversation, where allora or quindi are preferred.
Examples
