Usage Note
Elettricità is invariable (stressed final -à, like città). The related adjective is elettrico and the person who works with it is l'elettricista (m/f). The compound bolletta dell'elettricità or simply la bolletta della luce ('the electricity bill') is the everyday phrase used in Italian households. The physics sense and the colloquial sense ('there was electricity between them') align closely with English.
Examples
"La bolletta dell'elettricità è aumentata."
Natural Translation
The electricity bill has gone up.
