Also means
fault
Usage Note
Fallo is the standard Italian term for a foul in football (soccer) and other sports, as well as a fault in tennis. It also has the older meaning of 'mistake, fault' in formal or literary language. The phrase senza fallo means 'without fail, certainly'. The plural is falli. Do not confuse with il fallo used anatomically — context disambiguates.
Examples
"L'arbitro ha fischiato un fallo in area di rigore."
Natural Translation
The referee whistled a foul in the penalty area.
