Usage Note

Fini is the plural of fine, which as a masculine noun means 'end, aim, purpose' (a fini commerciali = 'for commercial purposes'). Do not confuse with fine as a feminine noun meaning 'end (conclusion)' — la fine. The phrase ai fini di ('for the purposes of') is common in legal and bureaucratic Italian.
