Fondatezza is an abstract noun denoting the quality of being well-founded or justified — la fondatezza di un'accusa (the validity of an accusation), verificare la fondatezza di una tesi (to verify the soundness of a thesis). It is exclusively used in formal, legal, and academic writing. The antonym is infondatezza (groundlessness).
