Giovanotto is a slightly old-fashioned or affectionate term for a young man, typically in his late teens or twenties. It is more familiar and warmer than the neutral giovane. The feminine giovanotta (young woman) is less common. The double -tt- is pronounced as a held consonant: gio-va-nOT-to. The plural is giovanotti.
