Igienico derives from igiene (hygiene) and describes conditions or objects that meet health or cleanliness standards. The plural masculine is igienici and feminine is igieniche — note the -h- is inserted to keep the hard 'g' sound before -i and -e. Carta igienica is the standard term for toilet paper.
