Usage Note
Ingombrante describes something that takes up too much space or is awkward to handle — a large piece of furniture, an oversized bag, or figuratively a person who gets in the way. The adjective is invariable for gender (same form for masculine and feminine); the plural is ingombranti. In figurative speech it can mean 'burdensome' or 'overbearing' (una presenza ingombrante).
