Interesse covers both intellectual interest (avere interesse per, to have an interest in) and financial interest (tasso d'interesse, interest rate). The plural gli interessi can mean both 'interests' (hobbies/concerns) and 'interests' in the financial sense. Di interesse used adjectivally means 'of interest, interesting.'
