Mangiatoia is the trough or rack from which animals eat — familiar to English speakers chiefly from the Christmas nativity scene (il presepe), where the baby Jesus is placed in a mangiatoia. In agricultural contexts it simply means a feeding trough for livestock. Plural: le mangiatoie.
