Usage Note
Men is a poetic and archaic apocope of meno (less), found in literary texts and set phrases such as men che meno (least of all) or per lo men (at least). In everyday modern Italian, meno is always used instead. Learners will encounter men mainly in classical poetry or formal quotations.
