Usage Note

Minorato (noun/adjective) means a person with a physical or mental disability. It was the standard medical and legal term for much of the 20th century but is now considered dated and somewhat offensive; current preferred terms are persona con disabilità or disabile. It may still appear in older legislation. The feminine is minorata, plural minorati / minorate.
