Ottagonale describes any shape or structure with eight sides and eight angles. It is used in architecture (una pianta ottagonale — an octagonal floor plan), design, and geometry. The noun counterpart is ottagono (octagon). The Baptistery in Florence (il Battistero) is a famous example of Italian octagonal architecture.
