Petto refers to the chest or breast — both the body part and a cut of meat (petto di pollo — 'chicken breast'). The idiom a petto nudo means 'bare-chested.' Do not confuse with seno (breast in the anatomical/female sense) or cuore (heart). Di petto figuratively means 'head-on' (affrontare di petto — 'to face head-on').
