Presumibile describes something that can reasonably be inferred or assumed. È presumibile che arrivino in ritardo ('It is likely they will arrive late'). The related adverb presumibilmente ('presumably, in all likelihood') is very common in journalism. It is a formal word; in everyday speech Italians prefer probabile or è probabile che.
