saziare

to satisfy

verb sah-tsee-AH-reh Rare

Origin: Latin satiare, from satis (enough)

Also means

to satiate

Usage Note

Saziare means to satisfy hunger or desire fully, often to the point of fullness. Used reflexively, saziarsi means 'to eat one's fill'. It is regular in conjugation. A related adjective is sazio (full, satiated): sono sazio (I'm full), a common table expression. Do not confuse sazio with soddisfatto (satisfied in a general sense).

Examples

"Un buon pranzo ti sazia per ore."

Natural Translation

A good lunch satisfies you for hours.

Literal Translation

A good lunch you satisfies for hours.
