Sola is the feminine form of solo (alone, only). It functions as an adjective agreeing in gender and number: solo (m.sg), sola (f.sg), soli (m.pl), sole (f.pl). As an adverb, solo (invariable) means 'only'. Do not confuse the adjective sola with the noun la sola which informally can mean 'a con' or 'a trick' in colloquial Italian.
