Usage Note
Stranamente is formed from strano (strange) + -mente and means 'strangely' or 'oddly enough'. It often opens a sentence to signal surprise: Stranamente, non ha protestato (Strangely, he did not protest). Like all Italian adverbs in -mente, it is invariable.
