Surf is an English loanword used in Italian to mean both the sport of surfing and the breaking waves. It is invariable and masculine: il surf, plural unchanged. The related verb phrase is fare surf (to surf). Il surfista is the surfer. The word is also used in surf the net contexts: navigare in rete.
