Telepredicatore is a compound of tele- (television) and predicatore (preacher). It refers to a religious broadcaster who uses television to preach and solicit donations, directly equivalent to English 'televangelist'. The feminine form is telepredicatrice. It has a mildly ironic register in Italian.
