Usage Note
Tremare is used for physical shivering from cold or fear (trema dal freddo) and for trembling ground or structures (la terra tremava). It takes avere as auxiliary when expressing duration, but essere is also sometimes found in literary use. The noun is tremore (tremor, shiver).
