Usage Note
Corrispettivo is a legal and commercial term for the sum or consideration exchanged in a transaction — what one party pays in return for goods or services. It is masculine: il corrispettivo, plural i corrispettivi. In tax law, lo scontrino/ricevuta fiscale is sometimes called corrispettivo. Learners should not confuse it with compenso (personal fee/remuneration) or prezzo (price in a retail sense).
Examples
"Il corrispettivo deve essere pagato entro trenta giorni."
Natural Translation
The consideration must be paid within thirty days.
