Usage Note
Depresso can describe a clinical state of depression or simply a low, gloomy mood. It is also used as a noun: un depresso (a depressed person). The condition itself is la depressione. Depresso takes essere as a linking verb: è molto depresso (he is very depressed). Do not confuse with oppresso (oppressed) or represso (repressed).
