devaluation
Usage Note
Deprezzamento refers specifically to a fall in the market value of an asset or currency — not to be confused with svalutazione (devaluation of a currency by policy) or ammortamento (accounting depreciation/amortisation). In everyday Italian, perdita di valore is the plain-language equivalent. The verb is deprezzarsi (to depreciate, lose value).
