Also means
disco
Usage Note
Discoteca is a dance club or discotheque; in older Italian it also meant a record library or record collection, though that usage is now rare. The plural is discoteche. Colloquially shortened to disco in casual speech. Note that c before -a stays hard 'k' but becomes 'ch' before -e (hence the plural discoteche = dee-skoh-TEH-keh).
Examples
"Andiamo in discoteca sabato sera."
Natural Translation
We are going to the nightclub Saturday night.
