conjunction nohn-KEH Less Common

Origin: from Italian 'non' plus 'che'

Usage Note

Nonché is a formal connective meaning 'as well as' or 'and also', used to add a further item in written and bureaucratic Italian. Note the accented final é; it is more elevated than a plain e and never means 'nor' despite the non.
