Usage Note
Poggiare means to rest or lean something against a surface: Poggia il libro sul tavolo ('Rest the book on the table'). It takes avere as auxiliary. In a reflexive form poggiarsi it means to lean oneself against something. It is also used in architecture to mean 'to bear on' or 'to be supported by'.
