Proporzionato describes something scaled or sized in proper relation to something else: una pena proporzionata al reato (a sentence proportionate to the crime). In legal Italian it is a key concept in proportionality (principio di proporzionalità). It agrees in gender and number: proporzionata, proporzionati, proporzionate.
