Rame is the word for the metal copper and is masculine: il rame. It also gives its name to the color color rame (copper-colored, reddish-brown). Do not confuse with ramo (branch), which is a different word entirely. The plural rami exists but is rarely needed for the metal; it is more common for ramo (branches). In chemistry the symbol is Cu.
