Usage Note
Solstizio refers to either the summer solstice (solstizio d'estate, around 21 June) or the winter solstice (solstizio d'inverno, around 21 December). The plural is solstizi. Do not confuse with equinozio (equinox), which marks equal day and night rather than the longest or shortest day.
