Usage Note

Tolleranza covers both the social virtue ('tolerance of others') and a technical measurement margin (tolleranza zero, 'zero-tolerance policy'). The plural is regular: tolleranze. The adjective form is tollerante and the verb is tollerare. Do not confuse tolleranza with pazienza ('patience'), which implies waiting rather than accepting difference.
